Hi Kevin - Thank you fortaking in my brother on short notice. Mental illness is oneof the most difficult illnesses to diagnose and treat. Youhelped us put structure back into our family life and helped mybrother see things as an individual and that He is not aloneand that there is hope, the two key points of histreatment. We felt like family and appreciate your sinceresupport to get us through these difficult times. Thank you toKen and the other counselors, as well for being understanding, asthe most important part of recovery at KB was clear that even awayfrom family you had support from new friends.

Hi Kevin, this is Barbara, Joseph's mom. It has been over a year since Joseph was at your recovery house. I wanted to tell you thank you!! Joseph is doing so well. He is the president of his Oxford house. We all are so grateful for her recovery and for KB. Thank you Kevin and your staff. I hope all is well with you and your family. Anyone who needs to talk with me please ask Kevin for my number.

I wish to tell you from my heart how grateful I am that my daughter was able to come to treatment at KB Recovery. She has just completed her second month, and I fell that I finally have a healthy, sober, young woman back. She has suffered great trauma in her life, especially the death of her father. KB Recovery gave her the tool, loving guidance and medical care she needed to face her life and gain the inner strength and commitment to be drug free. I believe your staff are consummate professionals, who really care about the welfare of their clients. They lend great credibility, due to their own life experiences. I was so happy to get positive, enthusiastic phone calls, which replaced the sad and hopeless cries for help. The staff was very able and willing to take time to talk with me almost daily about my daughter's progress. I would strongly recommend KB Recovery to any individual who has a problem with addiction. Addiction is a beguiling illness that destroys whole families. I share the sense of healing my daughter feels, and now go to Al-Anon to support myself and my daughter's recovery. Again, no words are adequate to thank you, especially you, Kevin, who made this possible for us.

I'm Bob's daughter, and after visiting with him last weekend, I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how impressed I was with your program and the services that you provide. I have had to watch my father battle alcoholism for the last 15+ years, and along the way, have had to deal with the loss of a relationship that was once the most important one in my life. Over the course of that journey, I have seen my father go in and out of rehab countless times (though never for more than a week at a time), and have been to many "family days" where I left feeling like very little had been accomplished.

When I found out my father was checking into a 30-day program, I was encouraged, but still skeptical (which you learn to be after having been hurt and disappointed time and time again). Finding out recently that he was going to stay another 30 days made me realize that there must be something different about this place, and I agreed to come to yet another "family day" (but again, still skeptical). What I came away with last weekend though was a tremendous sense of a place that "gets it". It wasn't about shuffling people through a series of scripted events until they have had enough time to clean out their systems; it was about people that genuinely care trying to help other people that are genuinely hurting (and battling addiction).

I was especially impressed with Elizabeth, who ran the family group session. She was engaging, and it was clear from the beginning that she had earned the respect of her patients. What was most impressive to me though, was her ability to get beyond initial emotions and reactions to difficult questions and foster a dialogue that focused on something deeper. She understood the necessary balance between compassion and what it takes to get someone to be honest with themselves (and the family members that have come to support them) - which is a tough thing to do when you're asking people to do something that is often very painful. She was also able to connect each person's story to everyone else in the group, and even though there was one point where things got very emotional and one of the patients stormed out, she continued to act professionally and used the situation to continue a productive dialogue with those there that were ready to deal with the realities of their addictions. At the end of the day, it was the first time I left one of those sessions feeling like something had actually been accomplished. She is a true asset to your program, and I am more encouraged than I have been in a long time about my father's potential for recovery knowing that he is being counseled on a regular basis by someone that not only "gets it", but understands what it takes to help someone with an addition "get it".

I told Elizabeth last Saturday before I left how wonderful of a job I thought she did, but I also wanted to let you know that because of your program and staff members like her, I have been able to open up to the possibility of being able to reconnect with my father. There is still a lot of work to be done, but I have not been as hopeful as I am today in a very long time. So I wanted to say thank you."

I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to you and the entire staff at KB Recovery for the amazing experience I've had there over the past two and a half months. My sobriety this time around is entirely different. I owe my new foundation of recovery to you. It feels good to be comfortable in my own skin for the first time.

I especially wanted to thank you for Elizabeth. I got so much out of her daily group and individual counseling sessions. It was difficult at first to open up to anyone, but she was absolutely brilliant at pulling the sheets off my addiction and my past. She is a gem, and I hope she stays with you a long time so she can help others as well. I will be forever grateful to you, Kelly, Manfred, Charlotte, Chris, Alex, Elizabeth, Carolina, and Eddie for all the love and support. It's a good feeling not only to have my life back, but a life worth living. I love you all.

Thank you for saving my brother's life. I have noticed a remarkable difference in Eugene the past 3 weeks just over the phone. Eugene speaks of how excited he is to live a clean and sober life after the program. He speaks highly of each of you and inspired by your personal recoveries. Thank you for taking such good care of him and for giving him the tools he needs to succeed and LIVE.
Love, Sadie

I was a client at KB Recovery from June 2008 to September 2008. I recently celebrated one year of sobriety and thought I should let you guys know. I use a lot of the tools, living skills and lessons I learned at KB Recovery. I don't think my story is unique. Perhaps unique to me because it was my first year of sobriety, after multiple attempts over the last decade. KB Recovery was also the last of seven treatment centers I had been to in 5 years. I believe my successes are a direct result of the hard work I did and the individualized treatment, which set me up for the hard work I am able to do on a daily basis. Everyone at KB was extremely helpful all the time. Elizabeth really took her time listening to me and re-assured me that I was not at fault for what had happened to me as a child and that meant the world to me. Lee, Manfred, Kevin, Alex, Fay, and all the rest of the nice people that work at KB were always available for me. I can't tell you guys how grateful I am to all of you for helping me get my life back. Also, I dropped 10 pounds and quit smoking too! Being hyper-vigilant about my health extends further than my recovery, but recovery is always comes first.
Love, Jackie S.

My Dan is doing very well. He had a problem at the airport-too much luggage. But the airlines got him on a later flight; he just got home later. He has worked with the movie people, with his Dad "Jim" and has been going to 3 or 4 meetings a week! He and his Dad plan on going to night school to learn computers. He hasn't reunited with his family but all in good time, God's perfect will for Dan. I got him an older model P/U-so he is all set for his sober life!! My sister plans on sending her son to KB. So Levin and Kelly, and all the rest-my eternal thanks to you for your help and prayers. Dan did say he would return if he had to. He's never said that about any other rehabs-You Must Be Doing Something Right!

Thank you again. Keep up the good work.
Sincerely, Mary
