Kevin Babayan, MA
Founder / Executive Director

For 21 years I was addicted to lot's of different drugs including but not limited to Heroin. I did not think, nor did I believe that it was possible for anyone to get clean & sober. Having tried numerous treatment programs, countless attempts on my own including moving to different states and even countries, seeking professional help from psychiatrists nothing seemed to work. My family and those close to me, did not think I was going to live much longer. I felt utterly hopeless and useless to the world. Today, however, it's a totally different story. With 20 years of solid sobriety my life couldn't be better. Some of my accomplishments include going back to school and becoming certified in Addictions Counseling. I received my BA in Developmental Psychology from the prestigious Pacific Oaks College. Later I completed the Masters Degree in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute. I am currently receiving my training in pursuit of Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from California Graduate Institute. I am happily married with a beautiful daughter. I love my work with a passion, and I promise anyone who enters through our doors that "your treatment and recovery will be the most rewarding experience of your life".

Evelin views drug abuse and addiction as having many dimensions which ultimately disrupts many aspects of an individual's life. Due to the complex nature of this disease, Evelin uses a variety of orientations to help the clients gain more meaning and purpose in their lives through self-empowerment and personal and emotional growth. Evelin works with the clients to correct flawed patterns of thinking which lead them to undesirable behaviors. She assists them in creating more effective coping skills to replace the old bad habits. Evelin also specializes in working collaboratively with the client and their family to help identify and alter dysfunctional areas that are inadvertently reinforcing or supporting the drug abuse. "Lexy" grew up in an extremely close and loving family in Bakersfield, CA. At age 15, she began to experiment with drugs and alcohol. KB Recovery gave me help. Because of this and the tools I have gained, I now live a happy life, a life that I am proud of. I now have that loving relationship with my family that I had once lost. Today, I am happy, joyous and free!"

Maggie J. Johansson
Staff Technician

I spent my childhood in Fresno, CA with my parents and my younger brother. I attended California State University, Fresno and graduated with a degree in Women's Studies, a minor in Criminology, and a Victims' Services Certificate. I always believed working with victims of violent crime would be my life. Fortunately, working with those who suffer from the disease of addiction still gives me an opportunity to help those in need and is intensely rewarding for me because I know what it is like. I deal with my own addiction every day but now I face it with the tools of recovery. I moved to LA after seeking treatment here for my own drug addiction. I ended up at KB Recovery getting the help and guidance I needed to leave the drugs behind and begin living a fulfilling life. My experience at KB was absolutely life changing and recovery through the 12 Steps of Narcotics Anonymous has taught me a new way to live. I now have goals to achieve and one of the main ones is to carry the message of recovery to addicts still suffering by working in the treatment facility that saved my life.
